What is ME doing to promote health and safety at Massage Envy franchised locations?
The Massage Envy® brand’s commitment to safety has never been greater. Given the heightened concerns caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, Massage Envy brought in outside experts – leaders in their field – to review the Massage Envy® brand standards relating to infection prevention and control. Through that collaboration, we have further strengthened key policies. Among those updated policies are mandatory cleaning and disinfection protocols, proper hand hygiene protocols, and requirements related to the use of personal protective equipment. Massage Envy® brand standards now require franchisees to ensure their service providers wear masks while performing services. Massage Envy franchisees must now also require each of their employees to complete additional health-specific training before allowing them to return to work. In addition to following these brand standards, as always, Massage Envy franchisees must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and orders, including those relating to the reopening of their Massage Envy franchise location.
What are the cleaning protocols at Massage Envy franchise locations?
Below are the brand standards, which Massage Envy franchised locations are required to follow to help protect the wellbeing of every member, guest, and employee.
- All Massage Envy franchised locations are required to ensure their employees have completed training in infection control & prevention
- All Massage Envy franchised locations are required to ensure their service providers wear face coverings while performing all services
Between every session and service, Massage Envy franchised locations are required to:
- Remove & replace all sheets. Clean replacements are stored in closed cabinetry.
- Disinfect all surfaces that may have been touched or handled during the service with products registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Use Against Emerging Enveloped Viral Pathogens.
- All equipment and tools that may have been used in the service are disinfected per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Massage Envy franchised locations must also:
- Require all employees to practice good hand hygiene, including regularly washing their hands with warm water for at least 20 seconds, including before and after touching members or guests.
- Ensure that 60% alcohol-based hand sanitizer is available in all treatment rooms and other key locations for use by all employees, members or guests.
- Change air pads and filters regularly according to manufacturer’s directions.
Closely monitor the CDC’s designated safety watch and warning levels and implement additional measures as appropriate.
How are Massage Envy franchised locations continuing to respond to COVID-19?
In addition to enhanced safety measures, franchised locations are also encouraged to be extra diligent to ensure employees exhibiting any signs or symptoms of illness, including acute respiratory illness, remain home. Likewise, if a member or guest with an upcoming appointment is not feeling well, franchised locations will encourage them to reschedule. Each franchisee is also encouraged to closely monitor guidance being provided at both the national and local levels. In some cases, that has meant franchisees temporarily closing their doors in the interest of safety.
